Today’s Poker Adventure

So, I got off of work and decided to play a few hands on FT. After watching the number of players at my tables dwindle, I decided that I should just bite the bullet and join Party Poker. After a visit to Neteller, and a withdrawal from by bank account, it was time to work towards the 30% bonus.

I’ve heard a lot about how loose the tables are on PP… damn, you people were right!

To say that I was shocked at the hands that people played is an understatement. There were hands that people had no excuse chasing, and at first I got penalized for not realizing my mistakes. At least at Full Tilt, people pay attention enough to not throw money at a bad hand. You can chase people out of the pot if you’re savvy, or at least appear to have a dominant hand. It’s not the same at Party.

After 2.5 hours, I grinded my way to completing the bonus requirements while only losing a few bucks. (Note to self: Until you build your bankroll, don’t play two tables above .50/$1. You’ve got to get used to the stupid people.) I’ll swing thru for a couple of SNGs later, but I expect to spend a lot of time at Full Tilt for now. At least there I’m far ahead, and I’ve still got 80% of my bonus to clear before Halloween.
